Chief Executive Director, Excellent Initiatives for Poverty Alleviation, Mrs. Falilat Salaudeen, on Saturday said the lack of employment and poverty were contributory factors to insecurity in some parts of the country.
Speaking to journalists in Ilorin during the 8th year anniversary of the group and its investors’ day, she said there was the need to empower the youth and women to reduce crime and for them to contribute significantly to national productivity.
She called on all stakeholders to partner with all tiers of government to empower the youth and women for national development.
She stated that the group had embarked on many projects that will alleviate poverty and empower Nigerians, adding that Nigerians and the government should assist the group.
“Empowerment of youth will reduce insecurity in the country. The problem of insecurity is as a result of poverty.
”In view of the enormous achievements and project we have, we are soliciting for the financial and moral support of every body in the society to enable us to execute our projects on agriculture and the establishment of institutions.
“This will enable our target groups (youth and women) to be self-employed. Our programmes are complementing the effort of the government and they are social relief services which are also operational in the advanced countries,“ Salaudeen said.
